Dr. Brian Slomovitz is a specialist in robotic surgery, novel therapeutics for endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer early detection, Dr. Brian Slomovitz has been named Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has also been appointed Co-leader of the Gynecologic Cancers Site Disease Group at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Fellowship Director for the Division. Dr. Slomovitz joined University of Miami from Atlantic Health System in Northern New Jersey where he was also an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai of Medicine and Adjunct Associate Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Slomovitz has a keen interest in applying the principles learned from the lab to the clinical setting. He is the principal investigator on a number of Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) clinical trials, focusing on endometrial and vulvar cancer. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and has lectured extensively. In addition, Dr. Slomovitz has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., Inside New Jersey, and New Jersey Monthly.
Dr. Slomovitz graduated from medical school at the Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School, and completed his residency at New York Presbyterian – Cornell Medical Center in 2002. At the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, he completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology in 2006. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology. Dr. Slomovitz sees patients at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Miami and Deerfield Beach locations.
Dr. Pearson is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is director of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has served on the Medical Advisory Board for the Center for Excellence for Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine. He is an assistant professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and serves as the Cancer Liaison Physician for the Commission on Cancer at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA, and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas in Houston, Lyndon B. Johnson Program. He completed fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. His clinical and research interests are in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of gynecologic cancers and the training of residents and fellows in minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dr. Pearson sees patients at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Miami and Plantation locations.
Dr. Schlumbrecht serves as the Associate Director for the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship and the Co-Director of Cancer Control and Prevention for Gynecologic Oncology within the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He comes to us from Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Arizona, where he served in the Division of Surgery as Gynecologic Oncology Clerkship Director and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer.
A graduate of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Dr. Schlumbrecht completed an OB/GYN residency at The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Texas. His clinical care of patients is complemented by his ongoing research in education, quality improvement, and health care disparities, with a specific interest in cancer prevention in underserved populations. The two-time recipient of the Jesse H. Jones Award for Excellence in Cancer Education, he has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer, and Modern Pathology. Dr. Schlumbrecht is board certified in both obstetrics & gynecology and gynecologic oncology, and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Patricia Jeudin joined The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jeudin completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts. Her research interests involve disparities in cervical cancer screening and treatment of cervical dysplasia as well as ways to mitigate these disparities. She has published several articles on the effects of race and ethnicity of HPV vaccination. Dr. Jeudin will provide services in both the Well Women’s clinic and Dysplasia clinic under the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Miami, Plantation, and Deerfield Beach locations.
