Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists are part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s UDeliver Team, who deliver more than 4,000 babies each year. They care for routine and high-risk pregnancies, as well as rare cases that require specialized care and the collaboration of multiple specialists.
A Team Approach
The UDeliver Team includes physicians specializing in general obstetrics and in maternal-fetal medicine (high-risk pregnancies). Additionally, the team includes ultrasound professionals accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and as part of the UHealth – University of Miami Health System, our team works closely with colleagues in other specialties like fetal therapy, neonatology and pediatrics.
Since our physicians practice as a team, someone is always on-call, 24 hours, seven days a week. Although you will have a primary physician assigned to you, another physician on the team may manage your emergencies, questions, and even delivery. Our team meets on a regular basis to review cases and to discuss the most recent medical literature to ensure that you are provided with uniform, up-to-date care.
Renowned Affiliated Partners
Our physicians deliver at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Labor and delivery units are located adjacent to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Holtz Children’s Hospital. The NICU is one of the largest in the country and is staffed by UHealth neonatologists, who are experienced in caring for the most critical newborns.
