Pregnancy Termination Appointment
During your appointment, you will meet with a gynecologist or physician in residency completing specialized training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The doctor will explain the procedures available to you and answer your questions. All abortion procedures are performed under the direct supervision of University of Miami Miller School of Medicine faculty.
You also will be asked about your general health status and will have an ultrasound examination, a painless procedure that uses sound waves to determine the gestational size of your pregnancy. The gestational time is usually equal to the length of time since the first day of your last menstrual period. Which abortion procedure is right for you will depend on the gestational size of your pregnancy and your preference. Depending on your needs, you will also be given information about contraception.
Be prepared to give your name, date of birth, contact information and the date of the first day of your last menstrual period.
